Understanding Bauer's history where I learned that they invented the idea of the blade being attached to the boot.
Understanding their market presence to determine where to market their products
BAUERS Subbrands. Each subbrand not only has a different colour but has a certain characteristic. In order for the razor to reflect Bauer attention should be drawn to these characteristics.
Creating concepts based on BAUER's sub-brands and product category range
Using clay to model the razor allowed the user to feel a more comfortable shave
Analysing material choices for the razor
Investigating plastic further to determine a final material
Polypropylene is the chosen material due to its strength and quality
Understanding their portfolio. BAUER's top product categories include ice stakes and helmets
Prototyping the final solution using vacuum formed and fabricated plastic
The final design uses many of Bauer's sub-brand characteristics. Each characteristic is colour coordinated with the sub brand colours
